Terapie sdílením / Sharing Intimacy in the Digital Age [live talk show]

How do we stay real? How do we nurture closeness and trust when technology is both our bridge and our barrier? How do we find courage to share our vulnerability in a world of first impressions flooded by perfect social media profiles? How do we not lose hope and keep trying?

Listen and be heard. Actress and artist Ester Geislerová and psychotherapist Jan Vojtko explore these urgent questions through real stories in a unique form of public therapy—moving, humorous, and deeply human.

We live in a time when the line between private and public life is blurred, or so divided that we end up living two parallel existences: one “real” and one virtual. Our most intimate conversations often slip into the digital space, where they take on new meanings. We are constantly negotiating what authenticity means in a world shaped by social media, dating apps, and, increasingly, artificial intelligence.

We invite you to a live lecture-performance in Czech by Geislerová and Vojtko, the creators of the now-legendary Czech phenomenon Terapie sdílením (Therapy Through Sharing).

What began as fragments of everyday communication—anonymous breakup texts and messages—has grown into a cultural mirror, helping audiences laugh, cry, and reflect on their own stories. Together, we will slow down, think about intimacy and vulnerability, and reconsider the stories we share with each other.

Since its beginnings on Instagram in 2018, Terapie sdílením has grown far beyond social media. Today, it reaches audiences through books, an audio series, a web series, and an audiobook, and its collected material is even used for research on online risk behavior, cyberbullying, sexting, and digital privacy. The project has also received wide recognition: it won the Czech Social Award for Most Inspiring Instagram (2020), its audio guide Terapie sdílením: Průvodce moderními vztahy was nominated for Audiobook of the Year (2020), and the scripted web series Terapie sdílením: O esemeskách a lidech for Mall.TV earned the prize for Best Web Series at the international Serial Killer festival.
