P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Peter Orner to celebrate and discuss his new book, The Gossip Columnist's Daughter: the cold case of a young Hollywood starlet’s death sets a contemporary writer on an epic and comic quest to uncover the truth, and its connection to his own family.
Peter will be joined in conversation by Richard Schiff. Along with a discussion and audience Q&A, Peter will also sign copies ofThe Gossip Columnist's Daughter.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Peter Orner is the author of seven acclaimed books including Maggie Brown & Others, Love and Shame and Love, Esther Stories, finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award, and Am I Alone Here?, finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. His work has appeared in the New Yorker, the Paris Review, The Believer, Best American Stories, and been awarded four Pushcart Prizes. A Guggenheim fellow and recipient of the Rome Prize, Orner is chair of the English and Creative Writing Department at Dartmouth College. Born in Chicago, he lives with his family in Vermont, where he’s also a volunteer firefighter.
ABOUT THE MODERATOR
RICHARD SCHIFF has enjoyed a lengthy and acclaimed career in film, television and theater. He is widely recognized for portraying WH Communications Director Toby Ziegler on “The West Wing” (Emmy Award) and seven seasons on ABC’s “The Good Doctor” as Dr. Aaron Glassman (Critics Choice nom). Some film credits: City Hall, Se7en, The Lost World, Man of Steel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Ray. He began his career in New York, where he founded and served as the Artistic Director of Manhattan Repertory Theater.
