Navigating narratives on climate change and food systems
From Brighter Green, Center for Biological Diversity, and Changing Markets Foundation.
Please join us for a lively discussion as part of Climate Week NYC about the intersection of climate change and food, and how mis- and disinformation and Big Agriculture industry greenwash threaten to undermine critical efforts to transform food systems to meet emissions reduction goals.
We’ll kick off with insights from an expert panel on current research initiatives and then take a deep dive into how to navigate misleading narratives on climate change and food systems. Panelists will explore who’s behind the (mis) information and how it shows up in the media, influences social media and impacts policy-making.
We’ll discuss how these narratives (and their proponents) might show up at COP30 and delve into ways to confront these challenges to action and advance evidence-based narratives for a sustainable, climate-compatible food future.
The event will take place at the offices of MacDowell, New York, for this unique and timely event.
