Love Story In 3 Phases by Emily Adler

As a global pandemic unfolds, two strangers navigating vastly different realities—one, an artist living alone; the other, an immigrant surrounded by a large family—find an unexpected connection. From their separate fire escapes, they step out of confinement and into each other’s lives as the world around them retreats into silence and bursts into chaos. Though set against the backdrop of New York, Love Story in 3 Phases speaks to something much broader—a universal reflection on love, destiny, and the quiet struggle against forces beyond our control.

Written by Emily Adler, Love Story in 3 Phases makes its fully realized debut at the historic HB Playwrights Theatre in New York City’s West Village. Directed by Eve Bianco and brought to life by a collaborative team of actors and designers—including Tess Goldwyn* and Prakhar Dhimole—the production is a heartfelt tribute to the power of human connection in uncertain times.
