From the searing heat of the Big Bang to the pressure-cooked hearts of dying stars, the cosmos is a kitchen—messy, brilliant, and wildly creative. Join us for this exciting lecture where Dr. Jay White will explore how every atom in your body was forged in the universe’s kitchen: hydrogen from the universe’s explosive beginnings, carbon and oxygen baked in stellar cores, and iron scattered by supernovae like cosmic seasoning.

We’ll delve into the elemental recipes written in starlight and consider what it means to be the result of a universal galactic tasting menu. What might life elsewhere be serving, if it’s using the same ingredients? Come hungry for wonder and insight!

Dr. Jay White is an accomplished astrophysicist with over three decades of experience in science education and outreach. As the Director of Science for Talcott Mountain Science Center & Academy, he has worked globally to inspire curiosity in the sciences.
