ABOUT JAZZMOBILE
Jazzmobile, founded in 1964 by NEA Jazz Master Dr. Billy Taylor and philanthropist Daphne Arnstein, is the oldest nonprofit with a mission dedicated solely to jazz. Its mission is to present, preserve, promote, and propagate America’s classical music—jazz. The flagship program, Jazzmobile SUMMERFEST, is New York City’s longest-running jazz festival, offering free concerts in underserved communities across all five boroughs. Performances feature world-class musicians in parks, plazas, and city streets. Jazzmobile’s pioneering model has influenced national institutions like Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center’s Jazz Program. Now celebrating 60 years, Jazzmobile continues to preserve jazz’s legacy for future generations through its advocacy, world-class performances and education programs.
