Join us to celebrate the launch of Printed Matter’s newest title, , a new artists’ publication exploring the correspondence practice of the late artist and illustrator Jason Polan. Edited by photographer and publisher Jason Fulford, The Post Office is a love letter to Jason Polan conveyed through an eclectic trove of drawings, letters, objects, and ephemera that he exchanged through the mail with friends, fans, and pen pals around the world. This project reflects on Polan’s affinity for the US Postal Service and his commitment to mail art as a means to build networks and make connections — a practice he maintained over many years with both friends and strangers alike. The result is a new perspective on Polan’s legacy, highlighted through exchanges that were playful and often touching, the contours of which offer an expanded portrait of the artist as correspondent and friend.
Copies of the publication will be available for purchase at the launch, and are available online here.
