Join us at the Naval Cemetery Landscape, in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, for the first-ever Greenway Stomp - an afternoon of bluegrass, food, drink, and fall festivities. We'll have four professional musicians holding down the jam, which is open to players of all levels. Acoustic instruments only.
This event is a collaboration between East River 5000 and the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative. Strong Rope Brewery will be serving beer. Bring the kids: At 1pm we'll have a costume parade on the Landscape boardwalk. Grown-ups in costume also encouraged.
Free and open to the public.
Time: 11:00-3:00pm.
Location: Naval Cemetery Landscape, corner of Williamsburg Street and Kent Ave (steps from the BP gas station).
Core band:
Christian Apuzzo on guitar
Bobby Hawk on fiddle
Cesar Moreno on mandolin
Max Johnson on bass
All songs will follow a bluegrass format, even if they don't fit neatly into the bluegrass genre. This means almost entirely 2- or 3-chord songs and simple 1-4-5 compositions, with breaks between verses for solos.
