YogaCity NYC and BopperYoga in association with Kula Yoga Project Present an Evening to Discuss Yoga as Action, Political Thought and Power. Join us at Kula Yoga Project for an insightful event exploring the intersection of yoga and politics.
Did you know that yoga is not simply a path to stillness and self-realization? For centuries it has also been written about as a political tactic and as a strategy to attain and keep power.
Join Professors Sunila S. Kalé and Christian Lee Novetzke to discuss “Six Things About Yoga That You May Not Know.” Highlights from their recent book “The Yoga of Power: Yoga as Political Thought and Practice in India.” This very timely discussion, right before NYC’s mayoral election, will be followed by a lively Q and A.
This event is free and open to all.
To order the book ahead of time, order online at CUP.COLUMBIA.EDU.
