Absolute Beginners Tango Series

Curious about tango but not sure where to start? This 6-week absolute beginner tango series is designed for those with no prior tango experience who want to build a strong foundation in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Over the course of six weeks, students will learn:

• Fundamental tango walking technique
• Basic posture, balance, and connection
• Simple turns and movement patterns
• Musicality and rhythm
• Confidence moving comfortably on the dance floor

This series focuses on clarity, connection, and ease, allowing students to develop both technique and confidence step by step. No partner is required, just curiosity and a willingness to explore movement.

About the Instructor:

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mariela Franganillo is an acclaimed tango dancer, choreographer, and producer based in New York City. She has danced in Forever Tango on Broadway, toured internationally with Julio Iglesias, and performed alongside Grammy Award–winner Pablo Ziegler. Mariela is also the founder of TangoFlow and Dance Tango NYC (DTNYC), where she continues to share her passion for tango with dancers of all levels.
