Vaccine hesitancy among parents has emerged as a significant public health challenge, fueled by misinformation, distrust, and cultural beliefs. This presentation explores the root causes of parental vaccine hesitancy and provides practical, evidence-based strategies for healthcare professionals to address concerns, build trust, and promote vaccine confidence.
Registered nurses and other interested healthcare professionals
At the conclusion of the educational activity, participants will be able to:
1. Identify key factors contributing to vaccine hesitancy among parents.
2. Explain the role of effective communication in addressing vaccine concerns.
3. Apply evidence-based strategies to counter misinformation and build trust.
4. Recognize the importance of cultural competence and community engagement.
5. Develop approaches to improve vaccine accessibility and convenience.
Participants can earn 1.5 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development credit. Each nursing participant must be present for the entire session and must complete an evaluation of the session to receive contact hours.
