Lee UHF is a DJ, producer, promoter, and label owner with a legacy spanning over 26 years across multiple genres, including Hardcore, Hard Dance, and Drum and Bass. A key figure in the Drum and Bass scene since 2008, Lee has solidified his position at the forefront of the genre, blending his passion for music with his vast industry experience.
Originally from Sheffield and now based in Birmingham, Lee's career has been defined by his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to promoting the scene. His work includes running successful events like RAW, Therapy Sessions Birmingham, and the award-winning Total Bedlam. (In the early 2000s) Additionally, Lee has played a pivotal role in booking talent and hosting rooms for renowned brands such as Global Gathering club nights, Spectrum, and Bassline Safari.
Lee’s production journey began in 2002 under the mentorship of legendary Hardcore producer Dave Devastate. Through this collaboration, Lee developed a distinct sound, releasing tracks on major labels like Evolution, Slammin' Vinyl, Ministry of Sound, Relentless, and Nukleuz, along with his own imprint, Bedlam
Records. The success of Bedlam Records, paired with the Total Bedlam events, propelled Lee to new levels of popularity within the scene.
By 2008, Lee’s interest shifted to Drum and Bass, and by 2010, he was touring the globe with Dirtbox Live (DJ vs Beatboxer vs Drummer), performing across the USA, Australia, Europe, and even on the Great Wall of China in Beijing.
In 2018, Lee reignited his passion for record labels with the creation of Dirtbox Recordings, which celebrated its 50th release in 2024. Alongside Dirtbox, Lee also runs Vibe City and R U SRS?, and co-owns VTO Records with Neurofunk producer TRCD. His career also includes label management roles for DJ Phantasy at DNB Vibes, Pendulum’s El Hornet at Hornets Nest, and Zak Meow’s Imagine Audio, as well as supporting DJ Rap’s Propa Talent and Magnetude’s Evolution Chamber through his PR company, SMYDF.
Through his ever-expanding empire, Lee UHF has made a significant impact on the global Drum and Bass scene, with an unwavering dedication to discovering and nurturing new talent. As he continues to break barriers, the future remains bright for this industry veteran.
