New Orleans Goes to War, 1917-18

Mr. Brian Altobello will talk about Mayor Martin Behrman when the city fought to preserve its red light district, endured fistfights over prohibition and women’s suffrage, struggled with its budding jazz scene, and many other events of the time.

Programs are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at UNO’s Homer L. Hitt Alumni Center, 2000 Lakeshore Drive, New Orleans.

We begin at 9:30 with coffee and pastry. The presentation begins at 10:00. Annual membership is $25 per person, $30 per couple/double or a $5 donation for an event. For more information, visit www.learningbeforelunch.com
