A master of both piano and Hammond B-3, Joe has spent decades lighting up clubs, festivals, and stages around the world — one groove at a time. 🎶🔥
Born and raised in New Orleans, he got his start in the early ’90s touring with 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 “𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵” 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻, recording on four of Gatemouth’s albums — including the 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘂𝘅 DVD with Carlos Santana. In 1995, he shared a bill with Gatemouth and Eric Clapton. 🎸🎷
From 2007–2017, Joe anchored a powerhouse organ trio with 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 “𝗪𝗼𝗹𝗳𝗺𝗮𝗻” 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 and 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗝𝗿., dropping three albums and building a rep for funked-up, no-nonsense sets.
He’s released nine solo albums and five more as a co-leader. His latest, 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 (2023), features Wolfman, 𝗜𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲, 𝗡𝗼𝗮𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁, and 𝗟𝗲𝗼 𝗡𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶, and spent three months on the charts. 💿📈
Since 2017, Joe’s also been a key member of the 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱, touring globally and recording three albums. 🌍🎶
When he’s not on the road, you’ll catch him playing around town — solo, with 𝗝𝗼𝗲 𝗞𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 +𝟭 featuring 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶, or wherever the groove calls. He’s been a fixture at 𝗝𝗮𝘇𝘇 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 since 1992 and 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 since 1999. And every year during Jazz Fest, he produces the legendary 𝗪𝗪𝗢𝗭 𝗣𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 — wrangling up to 28 pianists for one unforgettable night. 🎹🔥🎷
Joe’s picked up 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀, 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁 nominations, and a nod for the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 — but he’s never been about the hardware. Joe Krown just plugs in and lets the music speak for itself. 🎶💥
