Deep Dive: Long-form Game & Devices Workshop

Take your long-form improv to the next level with this focused, two-hour workshop on games and devices that add shape, surprise, and momentum to your sets. We'll explore how to discover and heighten the game of the scene and use devices like tap-outs, tag runs, walk-ons, and edits to keep the energy flowing. Special attention will be given to tap-outs—how and when to use them, how to support your scene partners, and how to create fast, funny, and meaningful transformations. Perfect for intermediate performers looking to sharpen their skills and expand their toolkit, this workshop is packed with reps, feedback, and ensemble-driven fun. About the Instructor - Scott Anderson

Scott Anderson, or “Scoot” as he is called by his friends, is originally from Jackson, MS but has lived in New Orleans since 2013 and started improv a year later. He grew up falling asleep to the sounds of his parents’ bluegrass band rehearsing into the night. Even though he fought it for 18 years, he eventually realized that he had to learn to play guitar or be ostracized by his family. He went on to receive a degree in classical guitar while also studying jazz, funk, rock, and bluegrass. Music is his heart, comedy is his mind, but his MBA from the University of New Orleans pays the bills. When he is not working as a software engineer, Scott teaches, coaches, and performs improv comedy. He is the co-founder and co-owner of Big Couch, where writes improv course curriculum and oversees the venue's technical operations.
