A Fall Feast sponsored by the New Lenox Area Historical Society will take place Wednesday, October 8 from 4:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the Harry E. Anderson Post 9545 VFW, 323 Old Hickory Road, New Lenox.
Enjoy a relaxing evening among friends and neighbors while dining on a delicious pork loin roast dinner, mashed potatoes and gravy, harvest vegetables, kraut, bread and delicious cake from Fleckenstein’s Bakery. Hot dogs & chips will also be available.
Come early to bid on a variety of items from the silent auction. Auction gifts have been donated by local businesses and friends of the Historical Society.
The dinner/auction is one of the key events the Society sponsors to help raise funds for the preservation of Schmuhl School and ongoing student programs held at the school. Schmuhl School One-Room Schoolhouse is a “working school” where many New Lenox and other schools spend “A Day in the Life of a One-Room Schoolhouse”. This year’s event is celebrating 25 years since the school was moved to its present location.
Tickets can be purchased in advance from any Historical Society member or at the door. Adults are $25, children under 10 years are $10, and 3 and under are free. Carry-outs will also be available. For tickets and information please call 815-485-5004 or
