What's in the Whitney Library: Dictionary Day

Dictionary Days:
Saturday, October 18, 12 - 5 p.m. at New Haven Museum
Sunday, October 19, 1 - 4 p.m. at Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library

It's Noah Webster’s birthday week and you can visit the Whitney Library at NHM for a look at items in the Noah Webster family papers (MSS 149), including his notes on the letters A and B, photographs of his New Haven home, his personal books, and his bookcase, which is on view in our first-floor galleries. Then on Sunday, stop by the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., for a “Dictionary Day” drop-in event with colleagues from the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society, who will be at the Beinecke to share items and insights from their Webster collections!
