Soapstone Carving Class with Eric G Martin

Discover the ancient art of soapstone carving in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop led by Eric G. Martin, local artist and cultural educator.

Using traditional techniques and guided instruction, participants will learn how to shape, smooth, and polish raw soapstone into a beautiful and meaningful piece of art. Eric will share his expertise in stonework as well as stories and cultural teachings that deepen the connection between the artist and the stone.

This class is perfect for anyone who enjoys working with their hands, exploring creativity, or learning more about traditional art forms. No prior carving experience is needed – all tools and materials are provided.
