Inspired by the spirit of please touch gently: zines, comics, ephemera, this workshop brings back the nostalgia of old-school photo albums, the ones filled with handwritten notes, tucked-in memories, and hidden pockets of surprise. Just like zines that preserve personal moments through layered pages, textures, and intimate storytelling, participants will build a miniature illustrated album that reveals memories sheet by sheet.Families will draw elements from their childhood on under-sheets that appear and disappear as pages shift echoing the playful, DIY and tactile quality of zines. Each page is placed at varying distances, allowing glimpses of drawings beneath, evoking the feeling of discovering forgotten moments in an old family album. This process encourages reflection on how we collect, store, and revisit memories transforming the act of drawing into a gentle archive of growing up.Audience Takeaways:● Explore zine-like layering and sequencing through a nostalgic album format● Reflect on childhood memories using drawing and playful paper engineering● Connect with the exhibition Please Touch Gently and its focus on intimate, self-made visual archives● Take home a tiny hand-crafted album that recreates cherished moments from the pastWhile you’re here, we invite you to also explore KNMA’s ongoing exhibitions — please touch gently: zines, comics, ephemera, jo ġāyab hai, aur hāzir bhi – book sculptures of Saba Hasan ; Extraordinary Line; and Moomin 80 – The Door is Always Open, the first-ever Moomin presentation in India.
