Headlining our closing night concert for the 2025 New Cumberland Music + Film Festival is none other than the incredible talents of "DC's Tenacious Double Ds" Griefcat, whose songs "I Already Took Off My Bra" and "Faeries F*cking" have become the booktok anthems you're hearing all over social media this summer.
Our wonderful friends in the beautiful space country project Nielsen Family Band are opening the show; make sure you get here early enough to hear some great tracks from their newest LP, "Whatever Reality."
GRIEFCAT
Rising musical comedy duo Griefcat emerged in 2019 as the brainchild of Annie Nardolilli and Louisa Hall, two songwriters from Washington, D.C., whose shared wit and undeniable musical chemistry made their collaboration feel like fate. Now established as modern, genre-hopping troubadours unafraid of sonic experimentation, Griefcat builds on influences from Tenacious D to Dolly Parton and beyond, infusing the result with a healthy dose of campiness and a talent for tongue-in-cheek sociopolitical commentary — a winning combination that has earned them the backing of a diverse and growing fanbase, a standing ovation from Simon Cowell, 100m+ social media views, and critical acclaim from outlets including The Washington Post over a string of releases and electric live gigs to date. Their next album, Dirty Laundry, is slated to drop September 19, to be preceded by a slew of singles, music video releases, and live performances later this year.
NIELSEN FAMILY BAND
2025 has been a busy year for the Lancaster-based Nielsen Family Band. Beyond keeping a steady live schedule around the North East, the “space-country” quintet released their third LP, “Whatever Reality,” in May to a large hometown audience. Each Nielsen Family Band show guarantees a unique setlist composed of originals and covers that feel at once familiar and refreshing. Fuzzy grit, sparkly twang, and every texture in between finds its place in the band's sound. Even at their most unpredictable, it's hard not to feel at home with the NFB.
