The Seniors Meet & Greet is March 18
Enjoy this opportunity to make new friends, learn about new programs and membership options at this special event happening Wednesday, March 18, at 2 pm in the Henry County YMCA Multipurpose Room. We’ll serve light refreshments; and we’ll have a prize drawing. Learn how to get the most out of your Y experience.
March Focus: High Blood Pressure and Hypertension
The focus for the March meeting will be High Blood Pressure and Hypertension as these are areas of concern for Seniors who completed our Meet & Greet questionnaire. Pam Craig, Director of Nursing at Addison Place Senior Living, will be our guest speaker. She will discuss signs, symptoms, monitoring, prevention, and treatment. She will also provide blood pressure monitoring starting at 1:15 pm before our Seniors Meet & Greet. When it comes to your blood pressure, Pam emphasizes, “Check It. Don’t Guess it.”

Your insurance may cover the cost of your YMCA membership. You could have a free insurance-based YMCA membership and joiner fee waved if you have Silver Sneakers, Renew Active, or Silver & Fit. Check with your insurance provider to see if you are eligible to get a code from them.
Even if your insurance doesn’t cover your membership, you can still make a move toward better health in the new year. Ask about income-based senior discounts and scholarships. We believe you are worth the investment in your health and happiness.
Seniors Member Engagement and Wellness Coordinator Julia Bouslog indicated, "We are excited that Nurse Craig will not only provide information and guidance to help us address, reduce, and avoid high blood pressure and hypertension at our March 18th Seniors Meet & Greet, but she will also provide blood pressure monitoring starting at 1:15 pm prior to the 2 pm meeting. If you are interested in getting your blood pressure reading, please come early.”
