About this Event

Sana Latrease Cotten is a dynamic transformational speaker, consultant, and author whose powerful journey from foster care to fierce advocate has inspired audiences nationwide. As Founder and CEO of Unashamed, Inc., she leads a pioneering Connecticut-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering foster youth and young adults to overcome shame and embrace their inherent value.

Her memoir, "Everyone will know it was God," chronicles her remarkable journey of resilience—from surviving early childhood trauma and navigating the foster care system to finding strength through adoption and becoming a champion for systemic change. This powerful narrative has established her as a trusted voice in foster care reform and youth advocacy.

Sana's work with the Department of Children and Families includes serving as a QPI Champion (Quality Parenting Initiative) and co-trainer for the Queen Esther Initiative, where she helps develop and strengthen foster and adoptive family resources.
