Jennifer Nelson (Doris Day) is a spirited young widow who works for a space research company while secretly helping her eccentric father, who lives on a houseboat with a glass bottom. When a suspicious government agent begins investigating possible espionage at her workplace, a series of hilarious misunderstandings, disguises, and romantic complications follow.
