Brain Tanned Buckskin Workshop

Brain tanning, the process of turning raw deerskins into velvety buckskin is one of the most alchemical and magical process I know.

This workshop will take you through the entire process, from scraping to dressing to softening and smoking. You will work in a group, which makes the process infinitely easier on your hands and muscles, and is a wonderful way to do your first hide. Everyone will go home with a piece of finished buckskin, and the skills too tan deer hides at home with a variety of methods.
