Whether you caught them climbing the stage at Rock The Steps or shredding 10-minute behind-the-head guitar solos, The Dorado Experiment has brought raw, electric energy to every performance.
This band didn’t just start the year with a bang—they were the first band in the world to perform live in 2025, kicking off the year at the iconic Chatham Islands NYE event. 🔥
Led by guitar-looping maestro Bowen "Bo" Allcolour—the mind behind genre-bending festivals at the Silvan Steps Amphitheatre and the sonic force of the duo Genrefluid—this band is an experience. A live, unrepeatable, psychedelic jam-rock journey fused with deep, classic rock 'n' roll vibes. 🎶
Frontman Blue joins Bo to deliver a magnetic stage presence, a modern-day pairing reminiscent of Jagger & Richards, Slash & Axl, or Plant & Page. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their performance? Completely captivating.
Holding it all together is the powerhouse rhythm section: Dale and Shea. Masters of musical flow, they drive the jam train with intuitive precision, creating music that feels too good to be improvised—yet it is. Pure genius.
And then there’s Geoff. On the Chaos Pad, he launches the band into psychedelic space, channelling Pink Floyd vibes and cosmic soundscapes. Geoff also owns Room Twenty5, one of New Zealand’s hidden gem music venues.
This show marks the grand finale of the season.
The Dorado Experiment is the musical heartbeat of Dorado Whakatū, a company on a mission to usher in a Golden Era of music, arts, and entertainment in Nelson. Having birthed the Silvan Steps Amphitheatre, they’re halfway to their goal of turning it into a world-class international venue.
With 5 festivals already under their belt, plans for next summer are underway—bigger, bolder, and more artistically ambitious. The profits from this final show will directly support the next wave of unforgettable events.

Parking & Venue Details for the Event
Parking is available at the Eyebright Gift Store. From there, head towards Queen Street and walk to 25 McShane Road. Keep an eye out for the big red sign for Unit25 Self Storage. Important: Make sure your car is moved by 11 pm, as the gates will be locked after this time.
The road leading to the venue is a bit dark, so it’s a good idea to use your phone torch for extra visibility.

Doors open at 6 pm – Come early to grab dinner from the food cart. Enricho will be serving pizza!!!!
The venue is undercover, so rain won’t be an issue. However, if the evening turns chilly, dress warmly to stay cozy.
The event is BYO. No alcohol will be sold on-site, so feel free to bring your favorite drink (and don’t forget your vessel!).
The show kicks off at 7pm with talented solo artist Suki Florence (SU.). With a voice that is unmatched and song writing that will make you question existence itself, we are confident this show is the best thing you can be doing for the kings birthday!
