📽 About the Film
Tender is an award-winning Australian documentary that is as sweet and heartwarming as it is honest and moving. In a small coastal town, a community comes together to do something radical yet deeply human: take death and dying back into their own hands. When one of their beloved members receives a life-threatening diagnosis, their ideals are put to the test. What unfolds is raw, courageous, and surprisingly full of humour.
This is not just a film about death—it’s about life, community, and the ways we can hold each other through our most vulnerable moments.
🗣 After the Screening
The Golden Bay Death Collective will host a community conversation inspired by the themes of the film. Together we’ll explore:
How do we want to be cared for at the end of life?
What role can community play in dying, death, and grief?
How might we in Golden Bay create alternatives to the mainstream models of death care?
This is an open invitation to listen, share, imagine, and dream. You don’t need to have any prior knowledge—just curiosity and an open heart.
