Silent Stars

Cottonwood Singers will present Silent Stars, a radiant evening of choral music that explores hope, reflection, and the quiet beauty of light in darkness Nelson on Nov. 29 at 5 pm and 7:30 pm. Featuring guest artists Allison Girvan (soloist), Clinton Swanson (saxophone), and Carlisle Beresford (piano). This program brings together an evocative selection of contemporary and beloved works, including Hope is the Thing with Feathers by Christopher Tin; The Rose, The Ground, and Evening Prayer by Ola Gjeilo; Advent Candle and The Sleeping Child by Bob Chilcott; Caledonia by Dougie MacLean (arranged by Blake Morgan); Lullaby for a Stormy Night by Vienna Tang (arranged by Allison Girvan); and other selections chosen to illuminate the season’s sense of stillness and wonder. Silent Stars invites audiences to pause and reflect — to listen for light in the quiet spaces.
