Nelson - Women’s Day of Action

132 years and one day after women secured the right to vote in Aotearoa, we are gathering again in strength and solidarity.

The Government gutted Pay Equity legislation that would have eased the cost of living and lifted pay of 182,000+ people. Across Aotearoa there will be activations to send a clear message: Pay equity is not optional. Our livelihoods should never be on the political chopping block.

When: 10.30am-1.30pm
What: Bring your families, friends, neighbours and nannas to this family-friendly event to rise up and push backfor women’s rights. Our march down Trafalgar Street will end at the Cathedral Steps where there will be face-painting, balloons, music, speakers, a sausage sizzle and more!
Where: Assemble at 10.30am at the carpark between Burger King and the Library (Halifax Street) ready to march at 11am.

Wear: purple, green and white in honour of suffrage
