This is the third in a monthly series of workshops exploring a different part of the body in depth.
This time, I’m extending the workshop and breaking it into two parts:
Part 1 — 75 minutes: a physical and practical exploration of the hips
30 minute shared lunch break
Part 2 — 75 minutes: embodied exploration of moving forward in life
The hips are about propulsion. Direction. Power. Stability.
When your hips are strong and supported, you can move forward with confidence, both physically and metaphorically.
The first 75 minutes of the workshop will be physical and practical:
• Hip anatomy and function
• How the hips move
• Strengthening the glutes and lateral hip musculature
• The role of the hips in walking and propulsion
• Floor sitting and squatting as essential human movements
• How to both strengthen and restore the hips
You’ll leave with tools and practical strategies.
We’ll then have a 30 minute break and share some kai (please bring a simple plate of food to share).
The second 75 minutes will be slower.
We’ll move into embodied exploration of this area of the body.
It’s often said in spiritual circles that the hips “store emotions.” That hasn’t been my personal experience, I tend to hold emotion higher in my solar plexus, but for some people the hips can be a protective area. They are closely involved in our fight/flight response, and the psoas muscles in particular are deeply connected to the nervous system.
So we’ll gently explore:
• What might you be holding in your hips and pelvis?
• What stories live here?
• Where are you hesitating to move forward?
• What are you protecting?
• What would moving forward require?
My aim is to guide a gentle exploration, where you lead the way.
I’ll include a resourcing practice from the modality Embodied Processing, and a meditation practice inspired by Theta Healing. These practices are designed to help your nervous system feel settled and safe, and to allow access to a deeper, quieter state of awareness.
There will be space for sharing your experiences, if you wish.
My intention is that you have a safe space to explore areas of your life where you might feel stuck and that you leave feeling more empowered, and ready to move forward in your life.

If you have a history of significant sexual trauma or abuse, please talk to me before booking. This workshop may touch sensitive territory, and I want to ensure you feel properly supported. In some cases, a 1:1 Embodied Processing session first may be more appropriate.
This is not just a physical workshop.
It’s an exploration of strength, emotion, belief, and the subtle ways we hold ourselves back from moving forward.
