The PledgeMe crowdfunding team are visiting Tākaka!
The team from crowdfunding platform PledgeMe are coming to Tākaka, and they say being part of a strong community is a superpower.
Local writer Charlotte Squire, who has been marketing and project lead for PledgeMe for the past four years, says her team are coming to visit beautiful Golden Bay, and host a public talk about crowdfunding.
“Crowdfunding is a great tool to help people grow projects and businesses, providing they have a strong community around them; and community is something we do really well in Golden Bay,” she said.
Circle Living - part of the Co-Housing neighborhood - are currently equity crowdfunding (meaning people are invited to buy shares in Circle Living) with PledgeMe, so they can investigate the viability of setting up new co-housing neighborhoods all around New Zealand. Simone Woodland from Circle Living will be talking about their equity crowdfund at the public talk.
Sukhita Langford from the Langford Store worked with PledgeMe to crowdfund nearly $40,000 in 2023. She’ll also be talking about her experience of crowdfunding.
PledgeMe co-founder Anna Guenther will talk about what she’s learned from 12 years of crowdfunding.
Over 1700 crowdfunds have been successful on the PledgeMe platform, raising over $70 million.
The public talk will be held at the Co-Housing neighborhood, Thursday 9 October from 5 - 7pm.
