Lonnie Lee's family settled in Rowena around 1908 and Lonnie spent much of his young life there. In 1958 he introduced Rock'n'Roll to the North West, Burren, Narrabri, Collarenebri, Walgett etc with Frank Bourke and his White Rose Orchestra. In 1959 he became on of Australia's most popular singers and is still performing today. He lived in USA for many years writing with and for Roy Orbison and others.
His new first autobiography book, Almost a Star tells many stories about Colli, Rowena, Walgett etc. It is the first of 4 books.
He will have a book signing after the shows in this 2025 North West tour.
