How the swaps work!!
Arrival time: 830-9:30 am-swapping starts at exactly 10 am.
During arrival, you will need to sign in to get your door prize and swapping number. Also, if you have plants, please bring them to the Pavillion and sort by very generalized categories that will be labeled by signs. Meet some new friends! Talk about the plants on the tables. Ask questions. Find a seat around the perimeter of the Pavillion (psst, bring a chair)
At 10 am, we will begin the swap. We will call groups of numbers (1-10 for example) to go grab a certain number of plants. Round 1 is usually 1 plant. Round 2 can be 2-4 plants. Etc. The order of the groups will be by random draw in groups of 10 until all groups have gone once.
During the swap, we will be drawing for door prizes!!! All items are donated by our group and everything is free!! Listen for your number and name (because you signed in) to win!
After Round 2 we will gather for a group photo!! Please join us!!
After round 3 (usually) we will need to clear the plants out! We will announce to everyone to please take what you want!!
After the swap, clean up, load up and depart with your new plants!
Don't worry, if you forgot what plant you take home, just post a pic! We will all help you out with ID and care (we love that part!)
Items for you to bring:
Friends!
Chairs
Water/snacks as none will be provided
There's usually plenty of shade with the amount of trees around, but if sensitive to sun, bring protection.
Bring your whole family! Even kids get signed in and can pick plants and win door prizes!
Please consider a $1 donation to cover the rental of the Pavillion.
We do all of this for free. We raised enough donations at our last swap to cover the Pavillion rental for this swap. If you'd like to donate at the swap you can, but there are no fees to attend or participate. We tend to have anywhere from 100-200 folks come to our swaps and look forward to growing bigger every time! We will wrap up the swap about noon!
