Join us at NTRC for an educational seminar led in partnership with BCS 5.0 Equine Nutrition Consulting.
This session will provide hands-on instruction in body condition scoring (BCS)—a standardized method of evaluating a horse’s fat cover and overall physical condition. Participants will learn how to visually and physically assess specific areas of the horse’s body, such as the neck, withers, ribs, and hindquarters, to assign a numerical score that reflects the horse’s health status.
Understanding BCS is an essential skill for managing equine nutrition, detecting early signs of under- or overweight conditions, and ensuring horses remain in optimal shape to perform their work safely and comfortably.
Attendees will learn how to:
