Learn more about the sport of Trailing! This positive and motivational activity builds a dog’s drive to find people and is based on recognized trailing curriculum, promoting accuracy and good handling. We don’t run.
We help you to be the best team possible and to understand scent plus read your dog. Add this into your toolkit if you are a tracker. Tracking coaching is always added for those pursuing the sport of tracking.
Bi-weekly lessons working as a group make it a fun social time as we help each other by learning to lay trails, hide at the end and learn to follow dogs and watch how they work.
We have a core group of trailing and tracking enthusiasts and are welcoming interested newcomers to the group. There are plans for trailing certifications. For now we have monthly “mock test practice days” to get ready.
A lesson schedule is available. Lessons are $75 plus GST for 1.5 hours working with partner. I help set up partners. And you can come early and stay to watch and help others. We start at 11 am and run three lessons. The group is small. 6 working teams max - 3 sets of two.
They are weather dependent so if weather doesn’t cooperate we will reschedule or apply the lesson fee to a future date.
