BEYOND THE PRAYERS (Part 1)
2 Kings 4:5-7 So she left him and closed the door behind her and her sons. As they were bringing the containers to her, she was pouring the olive oil. 6 When the containers were full, she said to one of her sons, “Bring me another container.” But he answered her, “There are no more.” Then the olive oil stopped flowing. 7 She went and told the prophet. He said, “Go, sell the olive oil. Repay your creditor, and then you and your sons can live off the rest of the profit.”
Happy new month! We are back after the january break. Now, many people and churches take much needed time off to pray and seek God in January. This is commendable. The only problem is, many never go beyond the prayers and declarations that they made during the times of prayer and fasting.
The widow went to Elisha with a prayer:- she was on the verge of being auctioned. The man of God directed her to "shut herself in". She did that faithfully. But a time came and she needed to leave that closet and go sell the oil. Beyond the wonderful experience of witnessing the never ending flow of oil, she needed to leave and go out to the noisy market.
How was she to get out of debt? She had to go sell the oil. One minute she was inside that miracle atmosphere where oil flowed unending. The next minute she was out in the market shouting and haggling for customers. That's how she paid off the debt, and that's where she made her living.
In the secret place of prayer is where you will get the "miracle", the oil that carries your destiny. But you will still need to go beyond that; you need to step out of that ground and into the REAL world where the "miracle" is translated into cash. God supplied the oil behind closed doors, but the woman had to come out and convert that into a livelihood.
Are you ready to leave that closet? Are you ready to step into the real world? Are you willing to go beyond prophetic declarations and into the real world in 2026? God help us.
Prayer:- Lord help us to have the boldness to step out and actualise our miracle. *James 2:14* _What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can this kind of faith save him?_
