The Old Stone Harvest Fest will feature traditional cooking demonstrations, live music by local artists, and heritage crafts!
The afternoon begins with a jelly-making demonstration using native plums from the museum’s Spanish Colonial Demonstration Garden and Dutch Oven cornbread. Chef Owen Flynn of O’Geez Food Truck will talk about foraging and using local ingredients while cooking up a traditional stew.
Beginning at 5 p.m., enjoy traditional old time acoustic music by the local band, Camino Real de Nacogdoches, and spend time at the heritage handcrafts table. Weave a bookmark at our makerspace and then visit the exhibit, Fabricating Fashion, inside the museum.
At 7 p.m., the music will continue with the Sons of Atlantis, an alternative country rock band, followed by an open mic to showcase local talent.
All event activities are free and open to the public. Cooking demonstrations, music and other activities will take place on the museum’s north lawn. For more information, contact museum staff members at (936) 468-2408 or
