Overview:
Join this fun class where Paula will take you step by step through her process of building one of her amazing cat sculptures. You can choose to create a unique cat of your own or turn your sculpture into any animal you choose. She will share her tips and tools for easy construction. Everything you need to construct one cat is included in the fee. Glaze application is not part of this workshop.
Artist Bio:
Paula C. Goforth Hand is a retired elementary teacher who rediscovered her love of pottery after more than 50 years. What began as a return to a beloved craft has grown into a joyful pursuit centered on her whimsical pottery cats. By playing with texture, color, and form, Paula gives each cat its own distinct personality-sometimes playful, sometimes curious, always unique.
Her vision is simple and heartfelt: "I'd love to see pottery cats on every porch and peeking out of every window." Teaching pottery has become a natural extension of that dream, giving her the chance to share both skills and inspiration. Paula hopes her students not only discover the techniques of the craft, but also the delight of creating something that carries warmth and character.
With her ever-present smile, Paula blends a teacher's patience with an artist's imagination, encouraging others to find joy in clay and carry that joy into their own homes and communities.
