Dear dancers,
We gather to initiate this new year with a theme that feels very close to home at the moment… moving through and in the field of the unknown.
To those who are new to this practice, the 5Rhythms is a dynamic movement meditation practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself.
We move through an arc of energy, or a wave, through varying states of being we call Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. We move with what is here.

I will guide us, during this extended class, through a number of waves supported by music and there will be space to check in, and mark-make together.
We will be paying particular attention to the array of ways that we practice finding the anchors or foundations unique to us that support us in exploring the unknown territories we are asked to navigate in life.

There is a gift in letting ourselves rest into the seeds of what wishes to emerge rather than push a top-down emphasis on resolutions and intentions that the start of a new year often has us doing.
Join me in letting it all move , express itself, and allowing for the still, full clarity of our next best step to emerge.

Stefanie-May is a Certified Accredited 5Rhythms®️teacher, Holistic Voice Therapist, Ceremonial singer and Musician, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner; a body oriented approach to working with trauma. She has a background in Theatre and Acting, and is passionate about imbuing spaces and practices with ritual and ceremony awakening to the deepest seeds of remembering within us all.
