Sewing 101: Learn Your Machine + Make a Project
Hosted by Amber and Diane
Have a sewing machine but not quite sure how to use it? Or maybe it’s been a while and you’d love a refresher? This class is for you!
We’re so grateful to be able to offer this sewing workshop as a mother–daughter team. Sewing has been a legacy in our family, a way of making things with our own hands for ourselves, our children, our grandchildren, and those we love. For me, it’s always been a little bit of magic too, a way of weaving care and creativity into something tangible. ✨
This offering is both practical and heartfelt: a chance to learn the basics of sewing while also stepping into a tradition of self-sufficiency, creativity, and care for community.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll cover the basics of sewing machine use:
• How to set up and thread your machine
• Understanding basic stitches and tension
• Tips for smooth sewing and troubleshooting common issues
Then we’ll put your new skills into practice by making a simple drawstring bag perfect for dice, cards, or little treasures. You’ll leave with both new confidence and a finished project!
