Hoover District In-Person Safeguarding Youth Training & Potluck

Join Hoover District for an opportunity to complete your Safeguarding Youth Training in a group setting! This training event is free to attend and there will be a potluck. Soup and chili will be served and we ask that you bring a side dish, appetizer, or dessert to share. We are taking goodwill offerings to offset the cost of the food.

Scouting America places the greatest importance on creating the most secure environment possible for our youth members. To maintain such an environment, Scouting America developed numerous procedural and leadership selection policies and provides parents and leaders with resources for the Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, and Venturing programs.

Safeguarding Youth training is required for all Scouting America registered volunteers
This training is a joining requirement.
Safeguarding Youth training must be taken every year. If a volunteer’s Safeguarding Youth training is not current at the time of annual registration renewal, the volunteer will not be re-registered.
In Illowa Council, all registered adults with expired Safeguarding Youth Protection Training will be suspended until their training is renewed.
