The Royal Opera House Muscat is proud to present Sindbad: The Omani Sailor, a major new opera grand opera commission revisiting one of the legendary Arabian adventurer’s voyages, coproduced with MÜPA Budapest and directed by Csaba Káel in a captivating Omani setting. This powerful new opera, composed by Hisham Gabr to an original Arabic libretto by Nader Salah El Din, features singers, soloists and choir from across the Arab World, performing with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Sindbad: The Omani Sailor is a celebration of talent and extraordinary storytelling; a production steeped in Omani identity, with costumes and sets richly inspired by the country’s traditional dress and evocative natural landscapes.
