You’ll learn how avalanches form, how to recognize hazards, read forecasts, plan tours, assess terrain, and perform effective companion rescue. Includes ~7–8 hours of online learning plus two field days. All SIET Avalanche Courses are endorsed by the American Avalanche Association and are equivalent to an AIARE 1 avalanche course.
Student Requirements:
You must be able to comfortably ski/ride a blue square run in any condition (powder, crust, chunder, etc.) and be fit enough to climb 1,500–2,000 feet of vertical per day and still ski/board down.
