Bios for Presenters
Diana Hauge has been telling stories for 30 years. She is a founder of BoroTellers and an originator of Haunted Murfreesboro. She has told at the Governor’s School for the performing arts, Chattanooga’s Storytelling Festival, Fiddler’s Grove Storytelling festival as well as at schools, libraries, private events and local festivals. A lover of folk and fairy tales, she is also a teller of personal stories and stories crafted from small bits of little known history. She thanks you for letting her tell here.

David Lasseter was born in Murfreesboro and has lived in Rutherford County for most of his life. He and his wife Deborah are both members of the RCHS. David recently received a First Families of Rutherford County Certificate and his family goes back to the early days of the Blackman community. David started attending the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN 30 years ago with Deborah and decided that he would try his hand at it. He received a Master’s Degree in Storytelling in 1999 and has been telling for fun at schools, assisted living facilities and at the Haunted Murfreesboro event off and on for years. He enjoys telling to children and occasionally to adults, especially when they are willing to act like kids! He is looking forward to the meeting in October…..it should be fun.

The story tellers will try to have a variety of stores related to the Halloween time of year and incorporate a few historical facts about Rutherford County. Diana and David ask the historians in the audience to give them a little leeway about the exact facts in the interest of a good story!

The photo for this event was taken at the Marymont Plantation that is abandoned and boarded Up! We hope that someone saves her.
