On October 25th, 2025, the STP FWD series welcomes a special line-up: French producer Higher Meditation, returning after six years since his last appearance at Import Export, joins forces with UK singer Layla Carter and the Free Mind Soundsystem.
Higher Meditation has become an established figure in the international Dub landscape. Originally from France and now based in Leicester (UK), he works closely with the renowned Vibronics Studio. His productions and dubplates are played by heavyweight sound systems including King Shiloh, Iration Steppas, Channel One and Blackboard Jungle. Drawing inspiration from pioneers such as King Tubby, Scientist, The Disciples and Alpha & Omega, he translates the roots of Dub into a modern, forward-thinking sound.
Layla Carter will accompany the session vocally – both alongside Higher Meditation and together with the Free Mind Soundsystem. Originated from jazz, the singer Layla aka L.Boony embellishes every version in her very own way with a toasting fusion of DnB, UK Grime, Dub and RnB. The young MC places special emphasis on consciousness in her music as well as on togetherness on the dance. Her previous performances at STP FWD have shown her ability to bring reflection, awareness and unity into the sessions – making her an essential part of this night’s musical journey.
With Higher Meditation, Layla Carter and the Free Mind Soundsystem, the evening promises to be an experience for Dub enthusiasts and newcomers alike: bass-driven, conscious and inspiring
