We’re back for another night of sensuous house music only — this time with contemporary techno powerhouse Adiel, longtime NTS affiliate Moxie, and our own resident Kareem El Morr.
House Music From… is a series dedicated to luscious dancefloor delight in the heritage of the timeless Chicago sound: soulful, swinging grooves from devoted DJs, house heads and acclaimed techno selectors ready to switch up their selection for a special occasion celebrating the Windy City’s musical legacy.
This edition features Adiel, head of the Danza Tribale imprint. The former & longtime Club Goa resident is known for her vinyl-only, dizzying, tribal-inflected brand of concrete funk, and we’re delighted to have her share a side of her rarely showcased musical penchants.
House music, meanwhile, is one of many turfs the eclectic Moxie calls home. The London-based digger started out as a radio DJ and has become one of NTS Radio’s cornerstones before expanding into touring and running her label and party series, On Loop. Experienced at captivating a wide range of listeners and dancers, her mixes travel through house and its related musical stratosphere.
“House music is not just about the beat, it’s about creating a journey, an experience that takes people on a musical adventure,” Kerri Chandler once said — and our resident Kareem El Morr, a skilled sculptor of sleek, sharp, state-of-the-art techno, will prove himself a gifted and delicate musical storyteller across many musical languages, house music included.
