The Great Ozarks Pie Potluck

You're invited to a party! "The Ozarks Pie Project Diary" cookbook is done, and I want to celebrate its completion with you on Oct. 11 with a pie potluck!

Bring a pie (homemade or store-bought) to share with new friends at the Jones Memorial, a historical site near Mt. Vernon, Missouri. I'll have cookbooks available, and will give a short presentation about 2:15 p.m. on the project and why pies (and points of connection) are important in our Ozarks culture.

While you're there, visit the Lawrence County Historical Museum and the historical Adamson Cabin, both which are on-site and expected to be open that day. It's also Apple Butter Makin' Days in Mt. Vernon that weekend, so lots of reasons to head that way.

(P.S. Even if you don't feel like bringing a pie, please still attend! It's free, and all are welcome.)
