2025 Southwest Brigade Fall Picnic will be September 13 , 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Lets have a big crowd!
We want this to be a family friendly event! So bring the spouse and kids to enjoy an evening of Southern hospitality and fellowship!
We will be meeting at the screened in pavillion at Gary Ewing Park on Highway 174. Just pull in the right hand main gate and drive past the golf course office, following the circle drive to the top of the hill.
Gary Ewing Park in Mt. Vernon has lots of parking and is easily accessible from Interstate 44 to Highway 174. Directions are easy once you get to Mt. Vernon. Google can help get you there.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset for anyone wishing to come early to visit or explore the facilities.
The park and golf course are right beside the pavillion. There is also disc golf and a baseball field in the park.
The 9 hole golf course fees are $12 for 9 hole and $17 for 18 hole.

The Jones Memorial, home of the Lawrence County Historical Society and Museum, are nearby as well as the historic Adamson Cabin. Arrangements can be made if there is interest in visiting these sites.
This is a family event, so please no alcohol. Pot Luck Dinner at 5:00 pm
Be sure to bring a covered dish, sides, desserts, etc. and a lawn chair.
Drinks, ice, cups, plates and utensils will be provided.
