Tales Across Counties (TAC) is pleased to invite the public to an evening with Ohio author Mindy McGinnis. This program is free and no tickets are necessary.
Ohio author Mindy McGinnis will be visiting Cote Winery in Mount Gilead as the culminating event of the TAC reading initiative sponsored by Cardington-Lincoln Public Library, Mount Gilead Public Library, Perry Cook Memorial Public Library in Johnsville, Selover Public Library in Chesterville, and Wornstaff Memorial Public Library in Ashley. The goal of TAC is having as many people as possible read and discuss the same book.
This year’s TAC selection is "Not A Drop To Drink" by Mindy McGinnis. In this young adult novel, we are introduced to sixteen-year-old Lynn, living in a future where water is scarce. Lynn has been raised to defend her pond at all costs - even if it means killing. After her mother dies, she must survive alone in a harsh, unforgiving world. When Lynn forms an unexpected bond with strangers, she learns that true survival is not just about guarding resources but also about protecting the people you love.
Mindy McGinnis is an award-winning author of young adult fiction, known for her unflinching stories that span genres from post-apocalyptic survival to historical mysteries and contemporary drama. Her novel, "A Madness So Discreet" won the Edgar Award, and her other works, including "The Female of the Species", "Heroine", and "Be Not Far From Me", have all received critical acclaim and recognition on ALA's Best Books List.
Everyone is welcome to read Not A Drop To Drink and attend the evening with Mindy McGinnis. The novel is available to check out at the five participating libraries and as an ebook through the Libby app while supplies last. Mindy McGinnis will also be attending a special meeting of the Selover Shelfies Book Club on Wednesday, September 10 at 6:00PM as well as the Local Author Fair being held at Selover Public Library on Saturday, September 13 from 2:00-3:30.
This program was made possible in part by funding from the Ohio Arts Council.
