The level 1 Protective Pistol Course is unique in it that once you leave the deck you will have experienced a training evolution that will not only stay with you but radically change your view of what self-protection really means. You’ll have the same core components taught to special forces operators in the pistol craft arena.
These are the vital few things that make all the difference to your performance under stress and pressure. Many courses of instruction go so slow and provide so much detail on things that just don’t matter when it comes to combat performance or life-threatening stress events.
At the end of each day, you will run through a REAL-WORLD course of fire that ties in directly to the theme of the course (workplace, home, personal).
WHAT TO EXPECT & WHAT YOU WILL LEARN.
Day 1 of ISP Firearms Course
Define the necessary mindset and fundamentals of Protective defensive pistol craft skill.
Mindset versus technique.
Weapons grip.
Trigger control.
Rapid sight acquisition.
Rapid engagements from ready positions and off “X” skills.
Recoil control to develop an efficient shooting skill set.
We will discuss the differences of static, dynamic and instinctive.
Effective carry positions.
Mastering the draw.
Two-handed shooting, strong hand only shooting.
Support-hand only draw techniques.
Engage targets that are not in their initial field of view from the draw.
Day 2 of ISP Firearms Course
Dynamic Reloads and malfunctions.
Shooting to and from cover and concealment.
Gun manipulations during various types of reloads and malfunctions.
Two-handed manipulations.
Problems associated with reloading and clearing malfunctions related to dynamic handgun operation.
Shooting to and from cover and concealment.
Transition to various positions.
Transition from one point of cover to another.
Develop a skillset for improvised shooting positions such as strong-hand only and support-hand only.
Increasing speed, efficiency, and overall shooting capability.
Stress course of fire.
Note: To maximize your shooting experience and time, courses with 12 or fewer students will be conducted as a one-day session, providing small-group training at a large-group price. If enrollment exceeds 12 students, the course will span two days with multiple instructors.
