Vintage dualsport- street legal/off-road capable motorcycles – Saturday September 20th, 2025- Mountain WI, Chute Pond campground.
This is not a typical paid dualsport- it is an informal gathering of vintage on/off-road motorcycle enthusiasts. The spirit of the ride is to slow roll vintage motorcycles through the north woods of Wisconsin, old school! Modern dualsport events can be difficult and fast paced. When we pay top dollar for these events, it’s hard to justify bringing an old knife to a gun fight, so the old bikes often collect dust in the garage. We are going to slow this ride down so we can all enjoy the scenery and camaraderie of a low stress relaxing ride!
The event is free to attend and participate. Lodging, meals, and all other related costs are the responsibility of each participant. Camping available at Chute Pond campground. You must reserve your own site soon because it can book up quickly. There are motels and other lodging options in the area. Parking in an overflow boat trailer lot is available for day use. There are about 20 truck/trailer spots but please carpool if possible.
What’s vintage? The spirit of the ride is to break out those older (street-legal) enduro/ dualsport, ADV or basically anything 20yrs or older with 50/50 tires that can ride on gravel, sand, dirt, 2-track, and street. Must be quiet and street legal! Gas range of 40 miles required. There will be short, paved sections that are 45-55mph.
Vintage riders with modern bikes are welcome- we know that some folks only have room in the garage for a modern motorcycle that affords them better suspension and comfort. If you have no problem going slow and understand what the spirit of the event is, please join us!
The route will be laid out soon and we will have details on mileage and gas stops. We will try to keep the route under 80 miles total. There will be a lunch stop at a restaurant halfway. The route is on public roads, low maintenance gravel, and 2 track type forest roads. There will not be a guide necessarily, but due to the short route, it will be easy to follow or join a group that knows where they are going.
There can be sand and dust when dry or mud when wet. No passing unless the rider in front of you pulls over or waves you by. There can be logging trucks and UTVs coming around every corner, plus we have all day to go 70 miles. Slow down and enjoy the ride. If you are impatient and cant stand being stuck behind a slow group…this is not the ride for you.
Its free, its loosely organized by anonymous volunteers, there are no services provided, there is no insurance, its not guided, its all on public roads or low maintenance service roads, there is no ambulance, no support truck, no mechanic, no safety crews, no meals, no t-shirt….so every thing you do or encounter as a participant is entirely your own personal responsibility!
